I was in in Palo Alto in 1989.
Anything less than 7 is a yawner.
Seriously, though, the one thing I’ve noticed about earthquakes is that 99.9% of everthing is completely unaffected, and the .01% is what the news spens 99% of its airtime showing you.
Not sure what an earthquake alarm is going to do for you. Even the long ones only last 30 seconds. By the time it is over, you will barely be coherent. Best to just open your eyes, say “wow, an earthquake,” and go back to sleep.
