I took my kids to a mall near us here in upstate NY (they wanted to see what all this “Black Friday” hype was about – and I had never been on this day myself). Parking lot was jam-packed. Everyone angry and aggressive trying to find a spot.
Inside the mall…. people everywhere. Crowded! My daughter bought a book and stood in a line of three people. That was the longest line in any store we went in all day. Place was mobbed, but very little spending going on. We bought three things all day. Really, there was nothing to buy. Only spent money at Borders, JCrew, and Gap. And we did not buy anything over 25$… even at JCrew.
We stopped by Target on the way home…same… no lines whatsoever.
