I support a VAT to replace the sales taxes so that the consumption tax is spread out more evenly in the different stages of production.
Soooo naive. Sales taxes are for the state, this is a national VAT. So you will pay state sales tax + national VAT. Do you think the states will give up their sales tax revenue? No freaking way, our state is already on the brink.
It’s coming, we will have VAT soon plus the financial transaction tax.
