I should mention that I do know for this latest release that attendance was mandatory or you would be dropped from the priority list. Even so, you could still defer (so you just couldn’t do it over the phone).
Perhaps requiring attendance helped create a sense of urgency. Mob mentality can certainly be a powerful force.
