And except for Burlington, VT. Vermont is liberal in some ways, but it’s mixed in with a streak of old-school New England conservatism and love of personal responsibility. It’s not nanny-state, take-but-not-give California “liberalism.” Oh, and if you’re into that sort of thing, you can carry a pistol legally without a permit, though it’s considered impolite under many circumstances.
