I remember when my parents friends would come over and they would always play cards:

– Hearts
– Spades
– Gin Rummy
– Pinochle
– Canasta
– Cribbage
Other games like:
– Yahtzee
– Bunco parties
There was always some snacks and adult beverages.
It was not overly done.
