I really think in 5-10 years, people will look back on the ACA as probably one of the best (maybe only) things Obama signed off on…
I’m no democrat, never was, I don’t care for Obama or Republicans neither, but health care is something which is a big problem in America, especially if you’re one of the people who don’t work for a big company which provides insurance (we’re self employed)…We’re healthy too.
That said, the “IMPLEMENTATION” of ACA has been very problematic, for me included. I’ve already changed our plan since the one we initially picked didn’t have the doctor or facility we wanted even though we picked it specifically for that facility…(The doctor list was wrong).
I snail mailed my payment in as well as online probably 5 times initially.
You really need to manage it on your own since obviously, some worker really doesn’t give a shit for your case.
My payments were received though so I was good to go Jan 1st.
A word of advice also for people now using it. Check your Primary Care Physician and medical group since they picked one for us since I don’t think the ACA application lets you choose. You may want to change it if the plan/group you were assigned won’t let you see your regular doctor if they aren’t part of that medical group…etc…
I went in knowing there’d be MASSIVE problems and I saw a lot, but this or at least until we have single payer is still needed I feel.
Also, compared to my plan last year, we’re paying less even not counting subsidies and my kids are paying hundreds less for a better plan as well.
