1. Brooks Worthing is a general contractor who will sub out the work. He was recommended to us by another Pigg, and we could not be happier. They’ve done the work within budget and are finishing well ahead of time. He probably isn’t “cheap,” but is well worth the cost.
We’re using them for an addition. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are AWESOME.
2. For smaller jobs (which yours might fit into), Pelican Windows and Remodeling is consistently on time and stays within budget. They have a GC license and do their own work. They do the type of work you’re talking about — we’ve used them on a few similar projects.
To ensure that everything is done to code, tell them that you want everything to be permitted (most contractors will offer this). That way, an inspector will make sure it complies with all local codes.
