If she’s getting 1600/month in free rent, will she get that amount towards her mortgage?
If not, she can’t afford it. As mentioned – she should be looking at 3-4x her annual salary… for her max mortgage… which is 90-120k. She’d be hard pressed to find something north county coastal in that range.
My advice… continue to take advantage of that sweet free-rent deal.
