i don’t get to practice my religion as I want to. The buddhist monks at deerpark monastery in escondido shut down way early, before everyone else, and they’re still shut down, no sunday meditation walks, no group events, no retreats.
the buddhists are pretty smart.
I’m not pissed at them; I send them money anyway, every month. it’s a comfort that they’re there, still doing their monk thing, keeping the spot fresh for me when they feel safe for me to go back.
we meet on zoom once in a while and keep the faith. well, not really any specific faith, but the practice… i listen to dharma talks and try to practice the five trainings. currently reading “the book of householder koans; waking up in the land of attachments”
it seems like it’s mainly christians who are losing their shit over govt control on their “worship”. maybe this is a good opportunity not to pray in public…maybe this is what Jesus actually wants, maybe he was getting really irritated by all the public proclamation of faith……
wait that sounds pretty judgy and unbuddhist. i retract
the signs are all around us; at least for jdueo-christians. the buddhists probably believe all signs are illusory
