I don’t buy the inherent wrongness of Israel itself.
I don’t think the way it was conceived, set up, or executed was intelligent but that does not somehow mean it has no right to exist.
The US was built on aggression and oppression toward opponents and with a fair amount of zeal toward any fucked up goals sold to the public (eg: manifest destiny/remember-the-Alamo/remember-the-Goliad/ Anglo-Californian-betrayal-of-the-Californios).
However, you need to get past how everybody got here and actually address what to do now that we are here.
I really think it is to the detriment of all sides to focus on how Israel got there whether they have a right to exist.
Its not really relevant.
They are there and they kicked the bejesus out of a lot of regional players.
They are power to be reckoned with and the other players should actually try to reckon with them in a constructive way.
I genuinely believe that the zealous influence of American cousins have kept the narrative paranoid and paralyzed in much the same way the narrative was kept back in Ulster.
There was no reason for the IRA to maintain its uber-Fenian position other than to appease the stupid American benefactors.
The fact that they have nukes is not a reason to condescend to them. Its a reason to treat them more like the rational adults they are and stop perverting their positions with our agenda.
