I don’t believe the Fed serves the people at all. Who the Fed serves is beyond me. If they served banks, why did they set them up for the upcoming mortgage default crisis? I think they try to keep the economy strong, or at least generate the perception it is strong. They don’t care who gets hurt in the process.
