I can’t believe these figures, no software engineer I know makes $200k+ a year, even Sr. Architects are making only $150kish a year. Most Sr. Software Engineering salaries I have seen in the LA area in the range $100-130k or so…and there are so many companies here that do not want to exceed $110k, that’s with a laundry list of requirements including every hot technology listed in the job description.
The market seems really dead right now, my old company said they had 25 resumes in a single day for 1 open position, all the H1bs or the thousands of H1bs that are converting to Green cards daily.
