I agree with the previous post to use your ATM card when you get there. Also using your charge card will get you a better exchange rate for purchases than converting US Dollars to Euro cash.
Make sure you let your bank (ATM) and charge card companies know you’ll be going to Europe. Fraud departments sometimes look at activity overseas as potential fraud and lock the card… this can be a big hassle if you’re overseas trying to call and get them to unlock the card. It doesn’t happen often… but it has happened to friends of mine so I take the time to call before trips.
