We rented in Coronado for a little over a year before buying our townhome this past May. It’s a nice community, very quiet and bike friendly. Full of cranky old people, and for a young black family like us, we felt like we just didn’t fit in. It was a relief when we finally left, though I enjoy the area much more now as a visitor.
Great library and park, mediocre restaurants, poorly stocked neighborhood grocery stores.
Some of our neighbors both in the Cays and in the Village complained of mice, but we found that the ant problem was uncontrollable, and it seriously affected our quality of life.
Also, the beach has a terrible fly problem. The last time we went to the beach in September, we could only stay for an hour because we were practically molested by all of the flies.
I don’t know what it is about Coronado and why pests are so attracted to it, but it certainly is a valid concern if you want to live there.
