gary – sounds like you did good. I like the granny flat/rental helping w/the mortgage and to a trusted friend. I don’t follow Lakeside at all, but I would think that values must be closer to bottom there than along the coast. It was good that the bank negotiated w/you and you ended up in the end holding your ground. It somewhat tied up the property. I’m glad it worked out. Sounds like a success story. I think you’re right about places on the market for a while. People wonder what’s up. And if it goes pending and then back on, I wonder some more. Half an acre. Wow.
