Freeway access is difficult from the south end of PL, but concerning residential real estate that can be a good thing.
The traffic from Liberty Station can be burdensome, but doesn’t seem like a dealbreaker to me. Access to Liberty Station from La Playa is very seemless and for young families the open space, playgrounds and parks was a much needed amenity.
The area is not for everyone, but if you work downtown, I would take a hard look at La Playa.
Pt Loma Village will have a different set of local retailers in the coming years. It is just a jewel box of an area. The night time views are unique with the skyline, watching the planes land ( with no noise), and watching the cruise ships sail out to sea. Not many places in the country with that array of views for a SFR.
