foreclosure.com used to have a glitch, sometimes it still works, when you pick the link to the listing there are a whole bunch of charts and graphs, choose the zillow link or click on the graph and it links to the exact zillow for that house, revealing the street numbers, sometimes it only works when you pick the “charts and graphs” link and enter the four digit code they generate to prevent data mining, sending you to another page and that zillow graph when clicked links to the page with the address.
Foreclosure.com also breaks things into preforeclosure, sheriff sales and foreclosures tabs, ignore the power search. The foreclosures are from the mls so I never look at those, the preforeclosures are the nods and it gives the name of the owner/defendant, does the same on the sheriff sales (not’s).
Finally, and perhaps the most up to date way to figure it out is to go to the riverside county website, choose grantee search and run your landlord. It shows all loans, refi’s, nods, nots and judgements. If your landlord owns a few different houses you wont be able to tell which one is the nod or not is for without paying two dollars for a copy of the doccument or going to the recorders office but if it does reveal a recent nod, it’s worth looking into further.
If you dont know your landords name or if they purchased in the name of a trust, you can run the gis to see how it is recorded and you can also see the property tax bill online to see if it’s current and how the name appears for the bill.
