I actually drive a 4cyl/5spd which gives 23mpg city and almost 28-29mpg on the hwy. The downside is that it does not have much power but with a manual it’s not that bad. Besides my commute to work is only 6 miles and I only very occasionally take a long road trip so it makes no financial sense to me to spend $30-40 grand on a new vehicle for not much driving around and primarily have a show piece, not to mention some of the exorbitant maintenance required by some of these luxury vehicles.
Also, I have a sportbike and when I feel like going fast I just take that out for a spin to get my Adrenalin fix.
