Once again, we are NOT talking about repealing parts of Prop 13 in order to bail out pensions. ALL of these expenditures make up the “expense” part of a government entity’s budget. ALL of these expenses are causing a strain. The fact that you’ve been hearing so much about pensions is due to the fact that the privatization movement is trying to get rid of unions so that they can control public assets and cash flows. It has nothing at all do to with saving taxpayers money. This is a global and VERY well-funded movement that has been gaining ground over the decades. They have been pushed back by the unions — the only obstacle that stands in their way. They are NOT trying to help Joe Sixpack, and none of their reforms would save J6 any money, or provide him with a better job. History has shown this over and over again here and in other countries around the world.
