Right now, hardware is ahead of software, but I don’t think it will last for long. I think Windows 10 will be the catalyst to demand even faster hardware. With continuum, your phone will be able to replace a cheap laptop. Version 1, you can only run one app at a time in full screen. But my bet is that a few version later, it will be able to run multiple windows just like a regular desktop. Which would put a lot of stress on the hardware.
