FLU: I’ve always liked John McAfee and largely because he personified that maverick pre-Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur mentality. Along with guys like Jobs and Woz and Gordon Moore/Robert Noyce (Intel), they were the true innovators that pushed the boundaries and made Silicon Valley what it is today. Yeah, McAfee came after, but he had that same anti-establishment/anti-corporate attitude and drive.
Most of the guys in tech don’t remember the true giants in the field and only know things through the prism of Google, Yahoo and Intel (the Andy Grove version, not the REAL Intel), which are now all a bunch of overly corporatized mindless shills.
