I just find it ironic that it might be harder for someone that is from India or China on an H1-B to get permanent residence…waiting 5,6,7,8+ years than it is for someone that crosses the border illegally…
And this is suppose to be good for our society…because we can “elevate” our nation with “progress”???? How is this progress, when it’s more difficult for a highly educated/legal H1-B visitors to obtain PR than it is for someone that entered the country illegally, and didn’t have to jump through all those hoops to do it….If this isn’t backassward, I don’t know what is.
The Asian immigration flow has surpassed Hispanics.
“Immigration scholars have attributed the decrease in Hispanic immigration to a mix of factors, including the economic downturn in the United States, increased deportation and border enforcement by the American authorities, and declining birthrates in Mexico.”
The Mexican birth rate is essentially down to just slightly higher than our own. You can’t fight demographics, the immigration problem from south of the border is already becoming a non-issue. We have had thousands of border patrol agents staring at the border fence for the last couple of years, and it is likely these border patrol agents will need to get even better at the staring game.
In the meantime, the talk radio world is still talking about the brown invasion from south of the border. And Allan and Brian will probably still be arguing about all of this 10 years from now when the strawberries will be rotting out in SJV not because they built some fancy fence along with drone surveillance, but merely because they ain’t making enough brown babies any more.
