There’s no reason to “burden” the cops on turning the cameras on and off. That function should be taken away from them. Once they leave their vehicle or walked more than a few paces, the cameras should be turned on automatically. The technology to do those things are widely available and are already tightly integrated into our daily lives – smart keys, accelerometer sensor, etc. – that it should be that difficult to build them into these gadgets.
