Five whole years without an agency mortgage? Boy, bet that scares the bejesus out of folks. I believe a bankruptcy stays on your credit report for seven years. I’m thinking that anyone who walks is already assuming that they won’t be able to get a conforming mortgage for at least seven years. As someone posted above, this is a totally empty threat.
