Don’t use the Macbook Air for comparison, that is a niche device meant for niche users (road warriors). It is still first gen with some first gen tech inside, so of course it’s going to be more expensive than it should.
Compare specs with the Macbook or Macbook Pro and you’ll find that the prices aren’t really that high for what you’re actually getting.
