Don’t know much ’bout geography? Seriously, you have to be pretty uneducated to not know where San Diego is! Plus how would you have an opinion that it was ‘God forsaken’ if you had not visited it personally? I find that most of the time when I travel (in the US) people even know where Carlsbad is and I find that pretty amazing.
San Diego is for active people who venture outside and play outdoors. If you don’t, then I guess it probably doesn’t make a lot of sense to you. It would make zero difference to me if I had a huge mansion back East and money was no object. If the weather sucked and I couldn’t go outside it would just be an elaborate prison to me most of the year. But I think a lot of people who live in SD don’t appreciate the weather all that much and don’t take advantage of it so they may as well live somewhere else.
