Don Scott at coloradogold.com is one of the PM dealers I bought from in 05 and 06 when I was still in SD.
It’s a small shop but quite reliable and professional, sells at 6-8 above spot, which is pretty good.
Monex in Newport Beach is a local source, they at least used to allow walk-ins. Prices were so-so.
Austin rare coins is a place I bought from as well and can recommend them, too – but I suggest to stay away from anything “numismatic”.
Buy Au/Ag just for the metal content plus a small premium for the minting – Maple Leafs, Philharmoniker, Krugerrands and bullion are my preferences.
