Well, considering a few are laptops, it’s not a big room. And it’s not picnic to stay in there in the summertime. No need for heaters. I’ve learned to stack them.
Actually, i had to separate things for all sorts of reasons (functionality, security).
*1 desktop is for non-techie stuff (pictures, videos,kids stuff).
*1 desktop is disconnected from the internet and stores personal finance data, bills, scanned docs,etc.
*1 desktop runs a server with techie stuff.
*1 macmini in my bedroom serves as a media computer which i also plan to do iphone/mac development on.
* 1 ancient laptop has all may car diagnostic software/OBD diagnostic stuff diagnosing car problems, capturing data,etc.
*1 mini-book i use for travel to download all the pictures,etc.
*1 laptop for my side work.
*1 laptop for my main work.
When the internet is down, all hell breaks loose (except for balancing my checkbook on the disconnected pc).
The sad part is this stuff is probably work less than $1000. And, no i don’t frequently upgrade my computer(s). I find a way to repurpose them.
