We sold a house with a broker who listed it on the MLS for $300-$500 (list-only, no other services, forgot the exact price but it was in that range). Sold in an hour.
IMHO, the MLS is the #1 reason to list with a realtor. If I found out that the listing agent kept my house off the MLS, sparks would fly.
