The Senate is now required to pay (there was a big Uproar about them stealing the funds etc.. without paying into it) but not most other gov branches where they still have the option to opt out.
Anyway if this is a Tax ??

Should not we all be required to pay ?? (that is the question I guess).

SS is a tax not a retirement plan !!
