I just read these and since I ordered both the Sharper Image one and the Mitsubishi Rabbitair GP unit, I will probably return the Sharper Image one and keep the Misubishi unit. The Mitsubishi unit received decent ratings and has excellent washable HEPA filter and many other useful high tech features and can clean a very large apartment or house. While the Rabbitair did not come in number one in ratings, it did come in the top ten and costs less than the others and from all the reviews should meet my needs. I will say this: I am just using my Sharper image unit right now as Fry’s has not yet delivered the Rabbitair unit (should get it this afternoon) and while the poor reviews are there for the Sharper Image unit, I do notice a major difference in air quality. So I know it works at least a little bit and is better than nothing until the Rabbitair BioGP unit arrives later today from Fry’s.
Since I live in Point Loma – usually ocean breezes keep the air clean but with the fires and nasty smoke, it appears to not help at all. I guess we should expect some illegal to burn down San Diego every couple years as the price to pay for living in this city.
