Concho: Not wanting to detract from that very funny and quite pithy interpretation of current neocon thinking, but weren’t the libbies and left wingers in Congress climbing all over each other in their haste to sign the Patriot Act?
Unfortunately you’re correct here, and you were also right on about Clinton’s record. I think the current Iraq and Afghanistan wars have only recently surpassed the war/sanctions death toll of the Clinton administration. I don’t expect much to change no matter which one of these guys get elected, but I do have some small hope that the next supreme court appointments might be more favorable to protecting our civil rights if Obama is elected. Beyond that we can expect more war from both of these guys because that’s what we Americans love to do. We love to invade and bomb and build bases and PXes and all that stuff. The only difference between McCain and Obama might be which countries we choose to bomb. Also with Obama you will get a kindler, gentler bombing than with McCain. It will be Clintonesque in that while the death toll will be great, it will be the Democrats who fail to see it rather than the Republicans.
