Looking at the Medicare Summary Notice, the charges were $4,968 + $5,030 + $4,070 + 630 = $14,698, before deductible and co-insurance. No wonder our country is going bankrupt.
FYI, there is the standard monofocal lens and the optional, more expensive premium multifocal lenses. But those are only a few years old.

Thanks. I’m not sure I’m going to do it yet. It’s been in my eyes since I was a kid, so there’s probably really no benefit to getting it out now. I’m just kinda curious how it would. $15k isn’t that bad. I had surgeons that wouldn’t were saying $25k+, some and not taking insurance and saying “here’s our rate, you can deal with your insurance yourself if you want to get reimbursed”…It’s happening more and more with the top doctors, because they can pick and choose their patients. I think it’s about to get worse.
