Once again, how many parents do you know that thought about the payback before having children? Being vague about anticipated happiness is not a good enough answer. Anything in life can be “anticipated happiness”. No one would do anything in anticipation of unhappiness. I would never do anything that I know would cause be unhappiness. Would you? You stayed single and childless because you anticipate that such action would bring you happiness.
