Allan, I didn’t say we should ban loud-mouths from speaking.
I just wondered what’s preferable. Isn’t calm, polite conversation better than rant, bluster and hyperbole?
I think that you’re implying that politically correct speak discourages certain speech. Perhaps.
But as a conservative, don’t you think that society has always had certain standards of behavior that people should (but are not forced) to adhere to? Standards of decency certainly shape the culture and the outcomes.
Those that control the language, control the control. And, to Leftists, this is what it’s all about.
.
I think that right is better at controlling the language. In fact, I feel that the Church controls the language in this country. Any politician that omits “God bless America” at every speech is automatically labeled Anti-American. Anyone who doesn’t believe in God is not to be trusted.
We can talk more about controlling the language when God is no longer shoved down our throats. I’m gagging right now.
Oh, let’s not forget about the flag lapel pin that everyone needs to wear these days. You don’t love America if you don’t wear a pin.
Well, the flag is EXTREMELY important for survival if you are a SIkh operating a 7/11. Otherwise you might be mistakenly shot as a Muslim terrorist.
