Blind Lady Ale House in Normal Heights is a kid-friendly “upscale” brewpub with a great atmosphere, great food (their pizzas are sublime), and amazing beer selection. I know you’re probably thinking beer+pizza=cheap, but it’s not that kind of brewpub. I tell people, “the pizza reminds me of my trip to Italy and the beer makes me wish I lived in Belgium.” Only problem is that it’s a seat-yourself joint, so on crowded nights it can become a bit hectic trying to hover over and score a seat… lots of vultures circling the tables. There’s no hostess and no directions, you basically just go up to the bar, order, and hope to score a seat. Can be a bit confusing on first visit.
It’s a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Go when it’s not crowded and you won’t be disappointed. http://www.blindladyalehouse.com/
