As far as the fire station goes you nailed it for me and even bolded the appropriate parts.
Strike one-They built it “in the middle of a wildlife preserve”. They friggin paved over paradise and put up a parking lot. Thats obscene to me.
Strike Two-Then they built “one of the smaller fire stations at 6,182 square feet.” Here we have a growing area that is only getting bigger and more needy so what do they do? They build a small substandard facility so they can have this prime location.
Strike Three- “Not only that, but most of the area they serve is to the south of that location.” Correction not most but nearly all. They built it on the far edge of the area they serve. Why not in the middle if as they say “seconds count”!
Yer Out!!
I just followed the links and found these gems in the articles. “A large deck at the west elevation provides a view to the ocean and wildlife preserve area”. Yup that was a necessary for the public welfare. The ion the 2nd link pictures of the fire station. Gotta love the Pergraniteel kitchen complete with sub zero fridge, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, high end restaurant quality range/oven. Only the best for our boys!
BTW, I have no envy of fireman or anyone for that matter. I’m not angry or belligerent. You are the one who is all worked up. I just laugh this all off as more nonsense in our system. The public sector is as corrupt or more than the private sector and they leave us all footing the bill. So when do I get my happy hour at fire station #6’s sunset view deck?
