I would think that a hospital would keep it on microfiche and copy that, but who knows, that is possible. My point is there are no crazy questions. Conspiracy has become such a derogatory term that we have gotten to the point if anybody ever claims a conspiracy they are automatically outcast from society. That is a pretty good set up for the controlling powers. You’re automatically crazy for asking. Like were all conditioned not to look behind the curtain and castigated by the herd if we do.

Microfiche storage requires a lot more space than computer storage, as well as upkeep as the medium deteriorates. I have my original birth certificate from my NY hospital. It doesn’t come close to being identical with the newer one I got when I applied for my passport a few years ago (couldn’t find my original ’68 copy when I needed the passport, just found it yesterday while cleaning out some old boxes).
Conspiracy theories have their place, but in general, I don’t find long term conspiracies very credible. And I think that at the point where it’s clear that Obama would have to have multiple governmental agencies in his pocket to have this conspiracy work (and have had them there since before he was more than just a good speaker running for a state legislative office) it becomes so unlikely that it’s clear that the right is simply grasping at any straw they can in an attempt to discredit Obama.
Considering that this has been the tactic of the Republican party ever since Karl Rove got his grubby little hands on the election machinery, I find this a FAR more likely explanation of this conspiracy theory.
