And so is the idea that all the elections are rigged so there is no point voting. Yes they can be rigged but in modern times only by a few percent or so.
That’s all they need. They can get every election right at 50/50 through gerrymandering, media control, dirty tricks like caging and removing voting machines from poor areas — the machine rigging is rarely employed and only in critical locations (e.g. certain counties in Ohio 2004 and Florida 2000). Look at all the great candidates that started this campaign: John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, Mike Gravel, etc… None of them have made it. The only two they will allow through are the controlled drones McCain and Clinton. Obama looks promising but they are gonna unleash the fear of the great redneck hordes to keep him out. I understand why people will vote for Clinton rather than McCain but I wouldn’t expect much to change one way or another– certainly not your tax burden or the level of “service” you receive from the federal government…
