There’s already one phone w/ the Tegra 2, the Moto Atrix. FYI, QCOM also announced the Dual core Snapdragon running 1.2GHz and it’s paired w/ the Adreno 220 at CES. The Adreno 220 is supposed to be a major improvement compare to the 205, they held a press conference where it where comparing it to the Tegra 2. Their dual core can be independently turned completely off, unlike the Tegra 2, which mean it “should” help improve battery life as well.
Tegra 2 might be first to market w/ the Tegra 2, but QCOM is hot on their heels w/ the the Dual Core Snapdragon and I heard great things coming out of Intel and their Moorestown too. I also heard they’re dumping A LOT of $ to push up the time table for their mobile platform. So, bottom line is, Nvidia might have the dual core market all to themselves right now, which is why all the Tablets have their chip, by mid to late 2011, it will be very interesting to see where Nvidia will be.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Intel always had some execution issues in mobile.
