That’s stock too…Plenty of ways to mod that beyond. Though, I think anything above 400hp for me, and I’ll end up wrapping it around a pole.
I’m preferring the G8 GXP because it’s the only thing GM has reasonably priced with a killer specs that can fit a child seat.
I’m coming to a sad realization as much as I like the Audi S5, it’s just overpriced for what it offers. It’s a 335 performance at an M3 or C63 price.
Well, I’m off car shopping via the internet to help stimulate the GDP. Wish me luck.
That LS engine is a monster w/ mods. you’ll never have enough HP. I though 300HP was enough before, but now, it feels slow, hehe.
S5 is totally overpriced. However, there’s rumor that the future S4 will be priced similar to a 335i. They’re also axing all the 3.2L V6 Audi too.
AN/FLU: Quick story about horsepower. My dad was an aerospace engineer for Ford Aerospace in Palo Alto. The building next to his was SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) and was filled with crazed gearheads. I had recently purchased a 1969 Mustang Mach I with a 351 Cleveland, but had also bought a 428 Police Interceptor block (with the four bolt main) out of a trashed Ford police cruiser.
Along with a friend’s older brother, who worked at Penske, the engineers at Ford SVO built an absolute monster engine. Holley 600 double pumper on a Weiand Tunnel Ram manifold bored 30 over, this thing dyno’ed out at 430hp. I could smoke ’em through all four gears and went zero to 60 in about seven seconds. This thing would routinely stomp Porsches on the straightaway. The only car that ever smoked me off the line was a 1970 Cuda with a 426 Race Hemi running a blower. That just don’t make cars like that anymore.
