The problem with your analagy is that it assumes that everyone gets the same beer and entertainment. In our unequal society (the natural state of things and not “correctable”) the guy paying the most gets his favorite beer first, and it is cold and is a freakin full keg. The next guy gets a pony keg and it is just as cold. Number 8 gets one of those “personal kegs” that heiniken cameout with last year, you know something like 5L. The #7 guy gets a full pint, and while it isnt quite as cold as the richest guy, it sure tastes good. This goes on down to the last three guys who get warm piss water in a shot glass.
You can try to say everyone got a beer, so everyone should pay the same (the natural conclusion of your argument) but what will happen then is the three guys drinking piss water shots will team up either to rob the bar and split the spoils 3 ways, or team up with the 3 guys drinking natty light to bud light (4,5,6) and take the good stuff by force. This has been shown throughout history.
