[quote=Allan from Fallbrook]Rus: A buddy of mine who is in the FBI has a great expression regarding guns: “I’d rather carry one for twenty years and not need it, then need it once and not have it”.
Or as we Rangers used to say (paraphrasing the USMC “Semper Fidelis” (Always Faithful)): “Semper Gumby” (Always Flexible). If you’re ready for anything, you won’t be caught unprepared.

After you been in the boonies a good while,it’s seven miles in to my house, on a dead end road, lined with “instant” vigilantes, surrounded by mountains where there ain’t canyons. We got CB radios and operators, guns, cross bows, dynamite, livestock, water, fruit trees, Propane, diesel, gas, solar power, food, seeds, firewood, generators, tractors, bocce ball…swimming pools, pool tables, darts, scrabble, chess and checkers…I already know where I will be and what I’ll be doing if the shtf…I should start taking reservations for the Rustico’s fun time refugee shelter.Bring the wine, no koolaid allowed.
I don’t think we’ll be dependent on this stuff and I wouldn’t flee the city quite yet, if I lived there, but yeah, I feel a little prepared .
