I’ve been involved in homebrewing for about 13 years. There’s plenty of local homebrewing clubs in town. Up until recently I was a member of “Foam On The Brain”. Most of the members are amazing brewers. They brew it all: Ales, meads, stouts, ciders, porters, et al. I just don’t have the room for it in my tiny apartment. One of the beers that got me a first prize (within my club) was a German Kolsch. I generally prefer a nice hoppy ale, tho. My current favorite is Bear Republic’s Racer 5.
It’s a fun hobby and there’s tons of people in town that are willing to assist first time homebrewers.
