Thanks flu. That is what I thought and I am not getting sf from the GOM now. Even if the oil is not there, what about all the dispersant that was sprayed on the oil? Not good.
FYI: Taiwan/Japan/Korea all have bans on seafood from China, I believe…It really is no joke….
Also, add toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss to the list of things to watch out for…
1)If you haven’t noticed, toothpaste from the major companies (Crest/Colgate/etc) come in two price tiers now. The more expensive ones $3/4 are still made here. Anything below that, it’s made overseas. You can spot the ones made here because they are appropriately labeled made in usa…Interestingly, the ones that aren’t made here usually don’t have a label indicating so…. Most of the time these toothpastes are made in mexico and parts of asia.
For kids/todlers, neither colgate or crest kids are made in the U.S to my knowledge. The only two brands I have found still made in the use for kids are
1)Sensodyne for kids
2)Burt’s Bees natural toothpaste (which out of all places you can find at Walmart :))
Dental floss/picks from oral-b aren’t sourced here anymore.
Unfortunately, looking at bar codes (as some emails have suggested) isn’t going to work…And processed foods are not required for source of origin labeling.
