Admittedly, I’m not exactly pro-Hillary myself. But for me, it’s a matter of voting for anyone or anything that gives the greatest guarantee of Trump not being president.
My personal opinion is that Hillary probably hasn’t been completely forthright on things. That’s my opinion, whether it’s rational or not. That said, it’s also just my opinion that some of these issues are trivial in relation to a very dangerous Trump getting really close to the highest elected office. I do think she would be competent to do the job, while as nothing that Trump has demonstrated leads me to believe he is qualified, in as much as many of his followers are qualified to do the jobs that they complain some of us are “stealing” (zing!)
For me this isn’t an anti-GOP, it’s anti-Trump. I’m more mad at the GOP for potentially screwing up the down ticket, because again, in as much as I wouldn’t like to see a GOP dominated government, I really don’t want to see a Democrat dominated government.
The GOP is pretty screwed up right now. You have the alt-right taking over and creating a really huge problem. I see a lot of Republicans trying to do the right thing and at the same time some of them just being a spineless prick that’s only now abandoning Trump not out of principle but because they don’t think he’s going to win and will cause an issue for their own survival.
This will probably be the most painful lesson the GOP experiences this year. For me, I am hopeful that we will have an alt-right GOP go off to the far right with their own party or take over the GOP label, and something more rational and moderate emerges from this, whether it’s with the GOP label or with a completely different label. And with the turn of events, I more hopeful this will happen sooner versus later. There are plenty of people that I believe that are left in this country that really don’t want to subscribe to either end of the extreme, and yet in certain times we’re forced to pick between two extremes because there are no viable alternatives at the national level.
I’d really like us to get back to times when the left would lean toward being more moderate and the right wouldn’t be filled with wack jobs out in space, and we have a more independents. We’re so far away from this right now, in that politics swings so far left and so far right, because whenever one side wins, it seems the entire goal is to try to stick it to the other party. And so long as this happens, we’ll be bouncing around between all this internal squabbling while the rest of the world laughs and passes us…again…
