Keep in mind that they don’t cover everywhere – if you’re near a deep canyon they might not cover it. They only took us because my dad had insurance from them – and we bought from my dad – so it was basically continuing the same coverage within the family. We were told that without that continuity/family connection they would have declined to cover because we’re close to a deep canyon.
When we were building the granny flat – AAA didn’t offer a course of construction policy – so we got that through Farmers… then when occupancy was issued we added the granny flat to our existing AAA policy. They were “challenged” to figure out how to add it since it’s a separate address, but on the same, non-subdividable lot. (Not at all common.) But they figured it out.
I’ve been pleased with the service. The prices are a bit higher, though.
