A washing machine takes up about 4 sq ft and uses a standard 120V/15A circuit. If a house doesn’t have it, it’s trivial to install. As far as a dryer, if I lived in San Diego, I’d never use one. I’d line-dry — perfect climate for it, and fuck what the neighbors think. Using energy for something that can be done using solar power is stupid.
