A VAT would be great if a VAT replaced all the other taxes we collect. That isn’t the proposal though. It’ll be income taxes, social security taxes AND a VAT.
Scrap them all and replace them with a National 3% property tax on all titled property and financial instruments coupled with a 3% sales tax on anything not having a title.
everybody then pays ‘their fair share’ since everybody is paying 3% of what they’ve got or earn.
Right now 47% of filers (not people, filers) don’t pay anything on income taxes and may get money back.
Keep in mind that’s in addition to the 15% or so of households that don’t even need to file income taxes.
